Tips & Information

Nashville Zoo has 6,230 animals, encompassing 339 species on 82 acres which provides guests with the opportunity to have hands-on fun, learn something, take an amazing ride and just have a wild time!

HAVE HANDS-ON FUN...
Critter Encounters, Lorikeet Landing, Shell Station and Kangaroo Kickabout are some of our most popular animal exhibits that allow personal encounters with some of your favorite animals. Where else besides Nashville Zoo can you brush a goat, feed a lorikeet and tortoise, and pet a kangaroo all on the same day?!

LEARN SOMETHING...
Nashville Zoo is proud to have the Grassmere Historic Home as a centerpiece of the park. The historic home and surrounding farm are filled with five generations of stories waiting to be told. As a bonus, a beautiful garden maintained by Davidson County Master Gardeners awaits your discovery.

TAKE A WILD RIDE...
Our Soaring Eagle zip line, Wilderness Express Train and Wild Animal Carousel are guest favorites. Soaring Eagle gives you a bird’s eye view of the zoo and beyond. A ride on the train offers a peek into undeveloped parts of the Zoo, and our beautiful carousel is a spinning delight for children of all ages.

AND JUST HAVE A WILD TIME AT THE ZOO!
Nashville Zoo's Jungle Gym is a Middle Tennessee legend with over 66,000 square feet of fun for children of all ages. Have a blast running, swinging, and climbing just like the other wild animals in the Zoo!

Expedition Peru: Trek of the Andean Bear – NOW OPEN!
From the moment you step into this new feature, you will be enveloped in an authentic, indigenous village featuring a Peruvian lodge, courtyard with seating areas, lush vegetation and beautiful wood, stone and metalwork. Visitors will get an unobstructed view of the bears from several observation points, including one underwater. The Peruvian lodge contains interactive educational displays where guests can learn about a variety of South American animals and also boasts spectacular views of these bears no matter where they are in the exhibit. Outside this facility, guests will have the opportunity to observe through side viewing areas and even watch a keeper train the bears up close. Similar to the boelen's python exhibit in the men's restroom in Entry Village, the Andean village women's restroom will feature a floor-to-ceiling exhibit of cotton-top tamarins, a primate species indigenous to South America.

Spider Monkey: Treetop Passage- NOW OPEN!
To enter the new exhibit, you will cross an elevated wooden bridge ending in a treetop view of these lively, inquisitive Mexican spider monkeys swinging among the trees. The covered viewing building features materials from around the world including Peruvian textiles and decorative masks. Bamboo imported from Vietnam and Colombia and environmentally sustainable materials like reclaimed pallet wood and synthetic thatch complement the exhibit’s Central American theme.

Nashville Zoo has several beautiful animal habitats that are sure to please your herd.
